Indoor Garden House

I adore Cardens.  If you haven't discovered them yet, they are mailable postcard kits for growing miniature gardens from seeds.  Great for gifts, promotional items and wedding favours.

Their latest design is the most stunning of all.  The laser cut metal and glass structures are just gorgeous and will fit in with any decor.

Must buy a few of these for Christmas methinks!

Westie Way

It's been a busy Summer/Autumn.  We moved into a new house, and with it inherited a large new garden.

Leaving behind the garden that I had worked so hard to transform, just as it was beginning to get established was tough.  I did lift a few plants, but couldn't bring myself to leave the garden decimated and bare.

The new garden is huge, by suburban standards.

After being here for a few weeks, I am beginning to get an idea of what I'd like to do, with a water feature, edible raised beds and banks of bright flowers.

There are quite a few plants already in the garden that I amn't familiar with beyond recognizing, so this weekend I will be uploading some photos to Shoot to get a better idea of how to care for them and allow the garden to flourish.

This raised bed sits at the edge of the paved area.  Wild and overgrown,  I thought it would be ideal to turn into a kitchen garden full of herbs and edible flowers that will allow all of the residents who use the communal garden some delicious, fresh ingredients.  

That will need to wait for warm Spring weather though.

For now, it is just a rush to get some good winter annuals planted (cyclamen, violas, serphiniums and hellebores) and all of the bulbs planted.
